Washington, D.C. – March 22, 2025 – Mothers Against Police Brutality (MAPB), a leading grassroots organization advocating against police violence, is set to convene in the nation’s capital for a week of activism, advocacy, and direct engagement with lawmakers. The highlight of the gathering will be the 6th Annual Clinton R. Allen Speakout Against Police Brutality, taking place on Saturday, March 22, at the Mayflower Hotel, Washington, D.C., from 10 AM to 4 PM. This powerful event will serve as a platform for families impacted by police violence to share their stories and demand justice.
Anita L. Wills, a dedicated member of MAPB and a tireless advocate for police accountability, will be among the speakers. She will speak on behalf of her grandson, Kerry Baxter Jr., who was tragically murdered. Wills, along with other mothers and family members affected by police violence, will use this platform to amplify the call for systemic change in law enforcement policies and practices.

The convening will also include critical meetings with congressional representatives, where members of MAPB will push for legislative reforms addressing police brutality, accountability, and justice for the families affected. The event is an opportunity to spotlight the urgent need for action and ensure that the voices of the impacted families are heard at the highest levels of government.
For those unable to attend in person, the event will be accessible via a webinar. Supporters can register here: MAPB Speakout Webinar to join virtually.
Mothers Against Police Brutality continues to lead the fight for justice, demanding accountability for wrongful police killings and advocating for policy changes to prevent future tragedies. This gathering in Washington, D.C., marks another step in the movement to ensure that no family suffers the loss of a loved one at the hands of unchecked police violence.
